Hi Jason, thanks for sharing the website. I have a question about where is the best place to stay??? My husband and i are going to Santorini in late September 2014 and we’re trying to decide on Kamari or Oia. What is your best recommendations for this time of year? thank you in advance

    Hi Bethany,

September is my absolute favorite time in Santorini. There are fewer people, the weather is great, and the prices are really good!

If you’re trying to decide where to stay, it really depends on what you want. For example, I prefer the “beach life” of Perissa & Perivolos (in the south). But some people prefer the spectacular views of Oia and Fira (in the north).

I’ve stayed in both parts of the island and both have their own special beauty and charm. If you want those stunning Santorini views & sunsets, stay in Oia, Fira, Imerovigli, or Firostefani. But if you plan to spend most of your time at the beach, head to the Perissa & Perivolos areas. (I prefer those locations over Kamari for access to the best beaches.)

    Hope that helps!
    -Jason

Hi Domingo! I would definitely recommend hiring transfer service from the ferry in Santorini to your hotel. But first check with the hotel where you’re staying. Chances are good that they will provide the transfer for you.
